"To minister to each other the community
and to people everywhere."

The 25-year anniversary of Father Paul’s ordination to the priesthood was marked first on Sunday, April 25th with a special recognition at the 8 a.m. Eucharist and again at the 10 a.m. service. On Sunday, May second, Father Paul arrived on Main Street in Chester to find a large tent on the church lawn (thanks to the Chester American Legion) with tables, chairs, tablecloths and flower vases.  Following the Eucharist Father Paul was again feted by the congregation with a surprise celebrative picnic at which he received more gifts and a lovely Memory Book highlighting his ordination, his marriage to the Rev. Christina Brannock-Wanter, and his ministry in Tennessee to his calling to St. Luke’s and his first service on March 17, 2002. In his first Light in the Shadow’s newsletter column, he wrote, “My prayer for our ministry together is that we may always be “’surprised by joy.’” He was!
