Cindy Roundy-Winston has a ministry called Soldiers Letters whereby parishioners can write cards and letters which are then forwarded directly overseas to men and women who are serving our country.

Here are excerpts from a soldier reply from Iraq to Cindy.

“For Jonny, Ryan and Adm, I hung their art on my wall. They are beautiful pictures and I mean that from my heart. Tell them thank you from me.  Everything I get from a child I cherish because I know it was important for them to do what they did and it means a lot to them for the person to appreciate their work.  I taught elementary students before and I love all kids. I never throw away papers they give me. I love their work.”

“You are welcome for all and I thank you for all you are doing for the deployed soldiers. We need people like you to help make deployment more bearable. May God continue to bless you and your family always. Tell all the kids I thank them…”  Sincerely Arletho

"As the 203d Engineer Battalion Chaplain, stationed at FOB Orgun/E, East Paktika Region, Afghanistan, I am honored to have received your package to the US Army Soldiers. I hop that this letter conveys to you how useful it is to have your support. FOB OE is at the forefront of the battle, and so it is quite difficult for our troops to get personal hygiene and other goodies that you send in great bulk. My staff visits with many Soldiers who need shampoo, soap, and razors, especially wet wipes for the long missions. Since we have no Post Exchange, there are times that our Soldiers get low on personal items, and then have to write home to get a resupply. YOU must know that you keep our Soldiers supplied with products that promote greater hygiene and morale! Books, magazines, and games are also awesome in giving Soldiers a stress-reliever from day-to-day duties. Since I have been on post, I have dispensed with hundreds of products that keep the morale high, and this is due to patriotic Americans—like you! Please accept my thanks once again. God bless you! Very best wishes, Chaplain (CPT) Bryan Walker"
