Maundy Thursday (March 28)
5:30 - 6:15 PM
Holy Eucharist with optional foot washing in imitation of Jesus at the Last Supper.
This service commemorates primarily Jesus blessing bread and wine and serving them to his disciples, with the mandate to continue. Such practice we have had in Christianity ever since. The foot washing is offered for those who like to share it. We conclude the service by moving any reserved sacrament to the chapel altar, leaving the main aumbry open, empty, and bare. We darken the church except for the altar candles by the reserved sacrament in the chapel.
The church remains open for those wishing to keep vigil. This begins at about 6:15 PM and continues as signed up for until midnight.
To sign up to keep vigil, please use the clipboard after our Palm Sunday service or contact us here (stlukeschester@gmail.com) stating the time period you would like to offer.

Good Friday (March 29)

Good Friday Liturgy as offered by our diocese and the Episcopal Church Standing Commission on Music and Liturgy. Our hearts and souls are empty as we await Jesus' Resurrection.

6:15 PM - 12:00 AM: Informal Stations of the Cross in the church.

Holy Saturday (March 30)

5:30 - 6:15 PM

Lighting of the new fire (if practical) and blessing of the Paschal Candle.

The wait between Jesus’ crucifixion and burial, and the Resurrection celebration on Easter.
