Why?
Part of becoming more of a community of growing spiritually in the Episcopal Church
Includes both obvious activities such as
A. Sharing faithfully in weekly worship, most likely at the weekly Sunday Eucharist we all celebrate together.
B. Practicing daily personal or household devotions or family rituals about which we have learned.
Holy Curiosity and desire to learn
A. But then we want to fill in our curiosity needs to learn
1. How did we come by these practices and what do they mean for us personally and as community.
2. As part of that, how did we come to be an institution and organisation known as the Episcopal Church?
a. And/or the Anglican communion, our wider relatives although some of them are very slender indeed.
3. What is our system of governance and relationships in the Episcopal Church and world wide.
4. A summing up in a session of our history and its meaning for us.
Formalising our relationships and including/supporting each other in the Episcopal Church.
A. Sacramentally with baptism.
B. Affirming and reaffirming our baptismal relationship with both St. Luke’s and the wider church (Episcopal Church, Diocese)
Discussing confirmation and reaffirmation of faith. Bishop’s role in the same. Our role.
The Sacraments – what are they?
Scripture: a session on its place and resources for same.
Personal and corporate prayer in our lives as individuals and community.
